Bottlebrush – SOLD

Bottlebrush is a wheel thrown form with a turned foot.

To decorate I carve the design into the clay surface. Then I apply colour into the indents. A clear glaze is applied to give a slight shimmer to the carved areas. The piece is glazed on the inside

I mix my colours and each mix is intuitive- not made to a specific recipe. I find this adds to the uniqueness of the work and is not unlike using paint on canvas.

The theme running through my practice is the healing qualities of Australian Wildflowers used as essences. The works are not botanical representations but are intuitive feelings I have as I decorate.
